Perspective Room Drawing Guides: Procreate Drawing Assist© Compatible! Instantly sketch in perspective—even if you don’t know the rules of perspective—with this bundle of (63) perspective room templates. These are not like traditional perspective templates with all those confusing lines! Instead, pick a ready-made room template, engage Procreate’s Drawing Assist feature, then trace walls, doors and windows in perspective directly over a holo-deck style, gridded guide


How To Use:

  • Pick the room guide nearest in size to your design (base sizes below)

  • Choose your preferred view angle and field of view

  • Set your vanishing points in Drawing Assist

  • Use Drawing Assist in Perspective mode to magically trace walls, floor, ceiling of your design

  • Use gridded walls and floor to locate and rough out your FF&E

Included:

  • (63) room-based perspective guides for use in 17x11 format

  • Three Base Room Sizes to help you find the nearest to yours:

    • Imperial sizes:

      • 16’ x 16’ x 9’ h

      • 24’ x 24’ x 13.5’ h

      • 48’ x 48’ x 27’ h

  • Seven View angles to choose from for each room:

    • 0 degrees (from straight on)

    • 15 degrees off-center

    • 30 degrees “

    • 45 degrees “

    • 60 degrees “

    • 75 degrees “

    • 90 degrees (from side)

  • Three Fields of View to choose from for each angle:

    • 35 degree lens (default human lens)

    • 50 degree lens (wider angle)

    • 65 degree lens (widest angle)

Detailed Instructions:

Part 1) Setup:

  • Download all 63 room guides into their own dedicated photo album in Photos app on your iPad (this allows you to quickly view the best room guide from the largest possible thumbnail, as opposed to the smaller thumbnails in iCloud Drive)

  • Open Procreate Gallery and tap Import > Photo

  • Go to photo album just created above, and tap guide that best fits room size, view angle and field of view you have in mind


Part 2) Tracing:

  • After image opens, tap Actions > Canvas > Activate Drawing Guide > ON, then tap Edit Drawing Guide

  • Tap Perspective at bottom of page, and use grids in the guide to help locate left and right vanishing points, then tap Done

  • In the Layers menu, add a new Layer above the guide, then counting the grids in the guide, make freehand tick marks or shapes corresponding to the location, height and width of your walls, doors and windows, and block out the location and massing of your FFE, too, if known

  • Add another new layer, activate Drawing Assist in the Layer popup menu, choose 02-Technical Pen or brush of your choice, then trace the room enclosure and architectural details of your design

  • Once the perspective of your room is sketched, turn off the underlay and render your sketch as you please
